Adherent microbial communities: Quantitative approaches from single cell to natural ecosystems

Organisée par A. Seminara (UCA, Nice), N. Henry (SU, Paris) and Tâm Mignot (AMU, Marseille)

Bacteria form complex spatially structured adherent communities which involve physical forces, chemical gradients and cooperative cell-cell interactions. An integrated view of these processes at all scales from the single cell to mesoscale patterns and ecosystems requires microbiologists and physicists to bridge large disciplinary gaps. To this purpose, the involved scientific communities must not only establish new cross-disciplinary language but also train the next generation of scientists to these emerging challenges. This workshop aims to fulfill this ambitious goal and connect senior and junior researchers through a series of lectures, seminars and workshops.
